A free networking event for members of the Institute of Paralegals, legal professionals and law students.

The Institute of Paralegals have established a series of monthly virtual events to provide you with a platform to hear from two guest speakers on a range of topics, ask questions and to connect.

Our free monthly events officially runs for an hour, between 1pm - 2pm however you will be able to join the meeting from 12:45pm to allow you time to get settled in and introduce yourself to the group via the chat facility.

Head of Faculty at Hunt ADR and experienced award-winning mediator Gregory Hunt will define mediation and explain the different stages of the mediation process before outlining 8 of the main reasons why a paralegal should consider mediation for a client involved in a dispute.  In this fun but detailed presentation Gregory will also give some examples based on real life mediations and be available for Q&A during and after the event.

About James O’Connell

James is an experienced commercial lawyer who has worked in the City and Hong Kong. He is now an Associate solicitor at Mayo Wynne Baxter solicitors in Sussex. James has long been a supporter of paralegals – it was he who formed the IoP back in 2003!

About Gregg Hunt

Gregory Hunt is an experienced award-winning mediator.  He is a Registered Mediator (Civil Mediation Council) and has mediated more than 100 times. Gregory is the Head of Faculty at Hunt ADR, which is an approved mediator training body. He has trained hundreds of people over the last five years and these include IOP members who have dual qualified as an Accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator and as recipients of the IOP Diploma in Mediation.
