A free networking event for members of the Institute of Paralegals, legal professionals and law students.

The Institute of Paralegals have established a series of monthly virtual events to provide you with a platform to hear from two guest speakers on a range of topics, ask questions and to connect.

Our free monthly events officially runs for an hour, between 1pm-2pm however you will be able to join the meeting from 12:45pm to allow you time to get settled in and introduce yourself to the group via the chat facility.

An Introduction to the 5 Stages of Mediation.

Synopsis

In this session experienced mediator Gregory Hunt, who delivers training for the IOP Diploma in Mediation, will take you through the 5 stages of the mediation process – preparation, opening, exploration, bargaining and closing – helping you to appreciate how mediation works as the number one tool for resolving business disputes before they go to litigation.

Speaker

Gregory Hunt is a leading independent mediator who brings a unique skillset having spent over 26 years  working in alternative dispute resolution and on complex civil and commercial disputes.

He previously spent over thirteen years with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and its subsidiary IDRS Limited, where he was responsible for incorporating The City Disputes Panel which previously oversaw hundreds of mediations annually He also spent seven years at The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and two years with consumer dispute resolution bodies including Ombudsmen, where he held Executive Director roles.

Gregory is a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council and he has trained over one hundred mediators globally. He is also accredited as a mediator by CEDR and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
