Education and Training Network
The IoP’s Educational and Training Network (ETN) enables Universities and other training providers to be recognised as having qualifications or training Approved by the IoP.
The following organisations are members of the ETN:
Universidad de Málaga
The University at the Malaga University has been teaching a comprehensive English Law university extension course at 4 levels since 2010 and today we are pleased to announce that the Institute of Paralegals has formally approved this course for the award of a Diploma in English Law Studies (D.ELS) to its successful students.
Successful students are law students who have passed all 4 Levels of the ELS course and graduated in Civil Law at an IoP approved University or obtained an equivalent academic training from an IoP approved higher education body. The D.ELS is the first step for a European lawyer to obtain the IoP status of “Approved English Law Advisor” (A.ELA) and registration at Tier3/ 4 on the Professional Paralegal Register to be able to apply for an English Law Paralegal Practising Certificate.
Academy of Tertiary Studies (ATS)
Academy of Tertiary Studies (ATS) offers a Certificate in Paralegal Studies. This programme has been developed to provide paralegals, persons who are employed in organizations or those seeking to enter the work place with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to perform paralegal services in a professional manner.
The course is approved by the Institute of Paralegals and all students who are registered with ATS will become registered members of the Institute of Paralegals in the UK and have access to all materials on their website.
The course is designed to be studied in a flexible manner, to suit the needs of today’s working student. At the end of each module, students are given written assignments designed to measure the students understanding of the topic and ability to apply principles of law covered during the sessions to situations. There will also be a practical evaluation conducted during the course.
Paralegal College: Paralegal Training Courses: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced
All of Paralegal College's courses have received approval from the IoP. At the Paralegal College, the focus is on helping paralegals and law apprentices to become 'legally useful' in as short a time as possible. Dr John Olsson, barrister, founder of Paralegal College has used over twenty years of academic and practical experience of the law, including as a law graduate and lecturer in the law, and on the Bar Professional Training Course, to bring courses to paralegals which are directed towards understanding how the law works in practice.
The aim is to help the student engage with the practical aspects of the law quickly and efficiently. We study five modules: Foundations of Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, and Civil Procedure and Litigation. In addition to assignments and an examination, the student has an opportunity to produce their own Work Portfolio which will demonstrate to an employer their areas of expertise.
We offer the Level 3 course: Introduction to Paralegal Studies, and the Level 4 course: Certificate in Paralegal Studies.
Please visit www.paralegalcollege.co.uk for more information. Our courses are approved by the Institute of Paralegals.
